Man, the list of new shit to look forward to just keeps growing. Earlier today, Metal Injection released a statement by guitar extraordinaire Ron Jarzombeck confirming that Blotted Science are currently working on a new seven-song EP, entitled The Animation of Entomology. According to Mr. Jarzombek the aim of the EP is to have music that corresponds perfectly to various movie clips and videos of creepy crawly bugs and other yucky critters, and as such the entire songwriting process has changed for them. Rather than thinking in terms of beats and measures, the band had to think in terms of frames per second so as to match the songs with whatever the hell they were watching at the time. In layman's terms: break out the bongs boys, this one's gonna be a doozy. The EP obviously doesn't have a release date yet since it's still in the process of being recorded, but R.J. has assured that all three of the members are hard at work putting their parts down, and if all goes well the whole thing should be finished within a few months or so. More on this as it develops, but in the meantime here's the opening track from their 2008 full length The Machinations of Dementia, called "Synaptic Plasticity".

Damn, this last album was enough of a mindfuck, if the new EP is as ridiculous as they're making it out to be I don't know if I'll be able to handle it. But I'm gonna try, that's for damn sure. The Machinations of Dementia is out now, and if you like tech metal at all there's no excuse for not having it in your collection. Leave your thoughts below, and stay tuned.
