R.I.P. Dimebag Darrell

I'll do the best I can to keep this short and sweet. As many of you know, six years ago today, one of the greatest metal guitarists of all time was suddenly and tragically taken from this world. "Dimebag" Darrell Lance Abbott was shot and killed on stage performing with Damageplan at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio on this day in 2004, along with Damageplan's head of security Jeff "Mayhem" Thompson, Alrosa employee Erin Halk, and an audience member named Nathan Bray, who was killed after he jumped on stage to try to give aid to Dime and Mayhem. The sadness that this event still brings to me is beyond words, and I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like for the family and friends of all the victims. However, this grief shouldn't weigh us down and dampen our spirits, but instead strengthen us and bring us all closer together. Dimebag may be dead in body, but as long as his loyal fans continue to sing his praise and pass his legacy on, his spirit will never die. Our hearts go out to everyone who lost someone that night, and our horns go up to him. Rest in peace Dime, we love you.
